Day 6

I've almost made it a whole week! Yesterday is really the only day I've felt really tired. Fortunately, Logan was feeling lazy too so we lounged around and watched TV most of the day. Today, I feel much better. The meals have been great, I now love food but I don't have an addiction to it anymore. I don't snack anymore, I don't eat until I hate myself, I'm not tied down by weighing foods or extreme portioning. One of the rules of Whole 30 is that you can't weigh yourself the whole time. I confess that I did break that rule...come on, if it comes down to eating a chocolate cake or weighing myself, I think I'm ok with that! So far I've lost 4 pounds.

This morning I had eggs and bacon, I thought I'd keep it simple. I did treat myself to some Orange juice. It was glorious! Tonight for dinner I'm having pot roast with sweet potatoes, green beans, golden beets, and carrots.

Day 3

So far my week is going pretty good! No cheats, only one minor headache, and so far not entirely exhausted. I do have a bit of fatigue but I expected it with cutting out sugar and soda. I didn't get any pictures from day 1 but I did get some from yesterday and this morning.

Breakfast from day 2. Ham and egg cups and a banana.

Lunch day2. Bison burgers on tomato with yellow mustard and green beans. (Angels sang when I ate this! It was so good)

Spinach and arugula with tuna, tomato, and vinegarette. Day 2 dinner

Breakfast day3. Sweet potato hash with half a red pepper, a small amount of ground beef, and two scrambled eggs.

Whole 30...Day 1

It's finally here. The day I start my whole 30. I'm anxious, excited, and a little nervous. Last night I took all my measurements and weight and we'll see how I come out at the end of this!

Weight: 235.7 (ugh!)
Waist: 49.5" (double ugh!)
Bust: 46"

For breakfast I had 3 eggs with a couple diced up fresh green beans. I topped that with some avocado. I had a chicken/apple sausage patty and a banana.
I took a picture but apparently I can't upload a photo from my iPad to my iPad! :/ I'll post all my pictures tonight at the same time.

The flu bug struck again

Troy and I both came down with a 24 hour flu bug this week. Thanks to that I've officially lost more than 10 pounds. While I'm excited about this, I was absolutely miserable yesterday! I'm spending most of my time trying to prepare (mentally and physically) for my Whole 30 starting December 28th. One thing I've heard over and over again is meal preparation. Have a meal plan in place so that you aren't frantically looking for dinner while gnawing your arm off.

Whole 30

I've decided to do the Whole 30 challenge. Originally I said January 1 but we get paid on December 27 so I'm moving the date up to December 28. Two weeks from today I am going to make a major life change! This might be a little extreme, but it's the only way to make sure I stick to an eating plan. Even since starting Paleo, I am ashamed to think about how many times I've cheated. I always thought "I'll just have a little" well, a little almost always turns into a lot. I have an addiction and this is how I'm handling it. If I'm ever going to get my PCOS under control I know this is the only way to do it that doesn't involve modern medicine. I don't want to be on Metformin the rest of my life. I don't want to take fertility pills to get pregnant again. And I don't want to take pills to get my period anymore. It's time to wake up my body and get it functioning at it's maximum capacity.

Trying to get back on track

Thanksgiving was rough on my diet...then with some added stress (we just had to buy a new water heater last night) I've really been struggling. Did I also mention I've been sick the last week? We had our first major snow on Sunday and it's been colder than hell the last two days! I did take Logan out to play in the snow on Sunday, he seemed to really enjoy it. He didn't like it when he fell because he couldn't get back up...ha!

Tonight it's back to the gym.

I needed tonight

After an incredibly rough Black Friday I needed this day to myself. I woke up with a sore throat this morning (faaaack!) so I've been nursing that all day. For the record, when Halls says their cough drops are "mountain berry" flavored they really mean "ass berry" flavored. They were so gross but it worked. I also got some amazing herbal tea and have been sipping that by the light of our Christmas tree, listening to Michael Buble radio on my Pandora. It's been amazing, and it's exactly what I needed.

The diet has not been going so well, neither has exercising. I guess I shouldn't be so hard on myself, last week was the only bad week I've had and now I'm starting to get back on track. I ordered Against all Grain's Paleo cookbook which I'm super stoked about. It should be here tomorrow. My brownies were not a hit for Thanksgiving, but I enjoyed them. My latest endeavors include finding recipes on Pinterest and trying to Paleo-ize them. I haven't actually tried any out, but I'm planning to very soon.
