So I never really went anywhere, per say, but if I'm being totally honest...blogging on our Ipod was a real pain in the arse. We decided to buy a cheap $200 laptop, so here I am! Finally free to blog all I want with a glorious keyboard!
I've been pretty bad about my diet and exercise, but I've definitely paid for it. I've been miserable the last couple weeks and have finally decided it's time to get back to it! I've been following Chris Kresser (if you have ANY interest in the Paleo lifestyle, I highly recommend reading his blog and book). He is fantastic, and has some great views on Paleo. Also a lot more realistic than the "purist" Paleo. I also got new running shoes, that I have yet to use! It's been such a chaotic week I'm really hoping to make it to the gym tomorrow.
With the shitty weather we're having today, and the beautiful weather we had the last couple days, I'm realizing...or hoping...that Spring is just around the corner and I'm not anywhere near where I want to be as far as weight.

I was on to something.
How have I felt the last two weeks? Like shit.
I'll just let that sink in for a minute.
Yep, I have felt like shit since going off the Whole 30. The first few days were the worse, then it got slightly better. I was obviously doing something right, and now I need to find that happy medium because I can't live strictly on Whole 30. I try to think of how I felt last time after indulging in those sweets, but then I think of how damn delicious it was! Let me tell you, delicious wins every time.
I've had a lot of people ask me about Paleo. I love it, I love talking to people about it, but most of all I love that I inspire people! I've lost 15 pounds since October. When I'm eating right I feel great. When I'm not, which happens more than I care to admit, I feel miserable.

Defeated
I gave in to temptation today. I had a slice of bread with peanut butter, and it was glorious, but I totally cried afterwards. With Whole 30 there are no "cheat days" because if you cheat, you start over at day 1. I'm not trying to make excuses, because I effed up and I'll own that, but tomorrow I go back to work and I am dreading it. Other than having a great day with Logan, I'm in a pretty bad place today.
So I will continue with an 80/20 Paleo diet and when I'm ready, I will try again. I want to order the Whole 30 books (It starts with food, Well fed, and/or Well fed 2.) I feel that reading those would better prepare me. I do think I was in too much of a rush to jump in to this. I will not deny that I feel the best I've felt in years, after only a week. I've also made some pretty incredible meals. This was a learning experience.

I've had the most amazing week ever!
I decided to take my last three days of vacation this week and have a lovely staycation. I worked out, I got some cleaning done, but most of all I got to unwind from the Christmas reset. Now it's time to prepare for the spring reset! Enough about work, let's talk about my incredible workout tonight!
I made love to the treadmill tonight and it was glorious. I jogged for 5 minutes straight. Two weeks ago I could barely do 2 minutes without wanting to die. Yesterday I jogged 7 out of 10 minutes but I did it in three 2 minute and one 1 minute spurt. I was pleased with that. Tonight I set out to do something similar but once I hit 2 minutes I thought "let's keep going." 3 minutes came and went...and then 4 minutes. That last minute was rough but I made it. I power walked for a couple more minutes and then sprinted another minute. My lungs were on fire. I did a mile total on the treadmill, I also did a mile on the elliptical. I feel fantastic!
I'm so torn about what I'm going to do once my Whole 30 is over. Because of cost it's just not feasible for me to do this permanently, but it's also so hard to decide what I'm willing to sacrifice.

Day 6
I've almost made it a whole week! Yesterday is really the only day I've felt really tired. Fortunately, Logan was feeling lazy too so we lounged around and watched TV most of the day. Today, I feel much better. The meals have been great, I now love food but I don't have an addiction to it anymore. I don't snack anymore, I don't eat until I hate myself, I'm not tied down by weighing foods or extreme portioning. One of the rules of Whole 30 is that you can't weigh yourself the whole time. I confess that I did break that rule...come on, if it comes down to eating a chocolate cake or weighing myself, I think I'm ok with that! So far I've lost 4 pounds.
This morning I had eggs and bacon, I thought I'd keep it simple. I did treat myself to some Orange juice. It was glorious! Tonight for dinner I'm having pot roast with sweet potatoes, green beans, golden beets, and carrots.

Day 3
So far my week is going pretty good! No cheats, only one minor headache, and so far not entirely exhausted. I do have a bit of fatigue but I expected it with cutting out sugar and soda. I didn't get any pictures from day 1 but I did get some from yesterday and this morning.

Whole 30...Day 1
It's finally here. The day I start my whole 30. I'm anxious, excited, and a little nervous. Last night I took all my measurements and weight and we'll see how I come out at the end of this!
Weight: 235.7 (ugh!)
Waist: 49.5" (double ugh!)
Bust: 46"
For breakfast I had 3 eggs with a couple diced up fresh green beans. I topped that with some avocado. I had a chicken/apple sausage patty and a banana.
I took a picture but apparently I can't upload a photo from my iPad to my iPad! :/ I'll post all my pictures tonight at the same time.
